Identity infrastructure that explains itself.
OKIAS (SMC-Pvt) Ltd builds identity verification for teams who have to justify their decisions to someone else — a regulator, an auditor, or the customer who was declined. We are registered in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, and we serve customers globally.
One API, four checks, one decision.
OKIAS is a verification engine you call once. Behind that call, four independent checks run and combine into a single, auditable outcome.
Document verification
OCR reads the document, then the fields are validated against the rules that govern them — ICAO 9303 MRZ check-digits on passports, per-country checksums on national IDs — with tamper analysis on every capture.
Active liveness
A randomised on-screen challenge your user cannot pre-record, with each frame bound to the prompt that produced it. That binding is what blocks print, screen-replay and deepfake attempts.
1:1 face match
AI vision compares the liveness selfie to the portrait printed on the document and scores the match. You set the threshold per flow rather than accepting ours.
Sanctions screening (beta)
Names are checked against the OFAC, EU, UN and UK sanctions lists. A name hit alone never auto-declines a person — it routes to a human.
AI-native, with deterministic guardrails.
Two things have to be true at once: the parts that can be proven should be proven, and the parts that need judgement should be explained. Here is the order a verification runs in.
Deterministic math runs first
MRZ check-digits are recomputed under ICAO 9303 and national ID numbers are validated against their own checksum rules. This part is arithmetic: it either balances or it does not, and no model opinion can override it.
The human is proven present
The liveness challenge is generated at request time and the response is bound to it frame by frame, so a recording captured earlier cannot satisfy it.
AI vision does the judgement work
Document imagery, portrait comparison and tamper signals are analysed by AI vision — the part of the problem where rules alone fall short.
The decision explains itself
Approve, review or decline arrives with reason codes, the signals that drove it and the model versions used — so a compliance reviewer can audit the outcome instead of trusting it.
Universal passport coverage comes from ICAO 9303 machine-readable zones, which every issuing country follows. On top of that we maintain deeper document specifications for the markets our customers actually onboard from.
We would rather be checkable than impressive.
Our buyer is usually a compliance engineer who will recompute the numbers we put in front of them. So we hold ourselves to claims that survive that.
- We publish the mechanism, not a black box: reason codes and signal weights ship with every decision.
- Sample data on this site is labelled as sample data, and any MRZ specimen we show carries valid ICAO 9303 check digits.
- A credit is consumed only when a verification is APPROVED — declines, reviews and errors cost nothing.
- Capabilities that are still in beta are labelled beta; capabilities we have not built are listed as roadmap, never as features.
These are things people ask us for. They are not part of the product today, and we will not sell them as if they were.
- KYB — business verification, directors and UBO
- PEP and adverse-media screening
- Face de-duplication across accounts
